The Nashville Singers, Inc. are thrilled to announce the establishment of the Todd and Jennifer Wilson Endowment for Music Education, a generous gift from Todd and Jennifer Wilson dedicated to supporting and enriching music education within the Nashville community.
This significant endowment, initially funded with $25,000, will directly fund two vital programs: the “Music Makes a Difference Grant,” which supports innovative music education projects in local schools, and the “Educator of the Future Scholarship,” which assists aspiring music educators in pursuing their higher education.
“Jennifer and I have always believed in the transformative power of music education,” said Todd Wilson. “We are honored to partner with the Nashville Singers to ensure that future generations have access to quality music programs and opportunities. We believe that music is not just an art form, but a vital part of a well-rounded education.”
Jennifer Wilson added, “Seeing the joy and growth that music brings to children is truly inspiring. We hope this endowment will help nurture the next generation of musicians and music lovers in our community.”
The Nashville Singers, Inc. will continue to manage the grant and scholarship programs, with the board of directors serving as the selection committee. The application period for both programs will remain January 15th to April 15th each year, with recipients announced on May 1st.
“The Nashville Singers are deeply grateful to Todd and Jennifer Wilson for their extraordinary generosity and commitment to music education,” said President Dann Zehr. “This endowment will have a lasting impact on our community, providing crucial support for students and educators alike. We are committed to stewarding this gift responsibly and ensuring its long-term sustainability.”
The endowment will be managed by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee (CFMT), a respected organization with extensive experience in endowment management. An annual report will be prepared, detailing the endowment's investment performance and will be shared with the Wilsons, the Nashville Singers board, and other stakeholders.
Upon Todd Wilson's passing, the endowment will be transferred to the Nashville Singers, Inc., establishing a dedicated endowment fund with a reputable financial institution. The Nashville Singers, in consultation with financial advisors, will ensure the fund's long-term sustainability.
The Nashville Singers will host a small reception at a later date to formally recognize the Wilsons’ generosity and celebrate the establishment of the endowment. Details of the reception will be announced shortly.
